History of Byrom
Having operated independently the largest International Tour Operations for the 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cups™, Byrom were retained by the Local Organising Committee for the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA™, charged with handling all the accommodation requirements for the event.
By the creation of bespoke software Byrom managed the largest accommodation resource ever assembled with over 3.2 million room nights in over 600 hotels.
After achieving unprecedented success Byrom once again “jumped the fence” and were then retained directly by FIFA to manage FIFA’s accommodation requirements for the 1998 FIFA World Cup™.
The relationship with FIFA has developed into other operational areas, calling on Byrom’s unique expertise in areas of ticketing, IT solution, hospitality and ground transportation.
Since 1991 and running parallel to its long term relationship with FIFA, which currently extends through to 2014, Byrom has enjoyed working with Organising Committees of over thirty major sporting events, notably golf’s pre-eminent team competition The Ryder Cup, where Byrom has operated accommodation, ticketing and transportation programmes since 1997 with its current contract with the events rights holders extending through to 2014. |
