2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™ Ticketing Bureau
Byrom plc, operating as the "2002 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Bureau", provided a complete operations and systems solution to FIFA for their 2002 Ticketing operation.
The 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Bureau was responsible for implementing FIFA's ticketing policy and for undertaking on FIFA's behalf international (non-domestic) ticket sales and distribution to the general public outside Korea and Japan, and for managing the ticket purchase rights of sponsors and other FIFA Commercial Affiliates for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™.
Venue Ticket Processing Centres were established and operated in nineteen FIFA World Cup™ venues throughout the two host countries.
As a result of an independent audit conducted by Ernst & Young Ltd it was established that the overall attendance for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™ was 94%.
On completion of this report the FIFA Executive Committee publicly recognised the quality of the work and the enormous complexity of the first co-hosted FIFA World Cup™.
They also recognised the success of the innovative “Team Specific Ticket” and so called "Will Call Ticket" system, publicly stating “These innovations will undoubtedly become standard methods of ticketing in future sports events." (Zurich, 17 March 2003- FIFA)
Byrom managed and operated over 40% of the entire ticket inventory for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, assisting FIFA in the drafting of the ticketing regulations for the various participating and non participating national associations.
Byrom through its subsidiary MATCH Services AG is responsible for the entire ticketing operation for the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup™ to be held in South Africa and South America respectively. |
