32nd Ryder Cup Matches
The 32nd Ryder Cup was staged for the first time on mainland Europe, with Valderrama Golf Club in southern Spain the venue. Through Byrom’s wholly owned subsidiary SEAMOS Marketing S.L. (Spain), Byrom operated the “Ryder Cup Accommodation Bureau” ("RCAB").
RCAB's operation grew from being responsible for the provision of Hotel Accommodation to a housing operation that consisted of more than 4,000 rooms in 60 hotels, 200 villas and apartments and the second largest ever floating hotel inventory comprising a fleet of 5 ships including the QE2. RCAB serviced over 13,000 clients for this event including members of the written press, the title sponsor, Ryder Cup Ltd, the PGAs of both Europe and America, the host broadcasters as well as all other members of the Ryder Cup family.
RCAB was responsible for all ticket sales to the tour and travel industry and for the provision of ground transport for the event.
RCAB also provided all technology and support services to administer the floating hotel operation at the Port of Algeciras. This included the provision of accreditation, transportation, timetabling and portside logistics. |
