The draw was held on 22 November 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The defending champions are Brazil, who won the last FIFA Confederations Cup in 2005. Byrom plc, through its subsidiary MATCH Services AG, operated as the ‘FIFA Accommodation Office’ for this event catering for the accommodation requirements of the competing teams, officials, sponsors, media representatives and spectators.
